Tapas are the perfect introduction to the joy of Spanish cuisine. For a real taste of Spain join us for our Authentic Spanish Tapas class. You will learn how to prepare a wide range of  sophisticated tapas classics that can easily be recreated at home.

There is nothing more social than sitting down with your friends and family to share a variety of tasty dishes. Eating this way encourages a relaxed and enjoyable atmospere with lots of conversation as your guests are not so focussed on eating an entire meal.

Dishes include; 

Escalivada– Catalan roasted peppers, aubergines and onions are combined to make this colourful and tasty true Mediterranean tapa.

 Gazpacho Andaluz– This classic and cooling Spanish soup is originally from Andalusia and made with lots of ripe and juicy tomatoes, herbs, onions and chillies.

 Ensalada Sevillana– Sevillian salad of oranges, sherry and olives

 Chorizo y tomates con manchego– this smoky, spicy slow cooked tomatoes with Spanish chorizo and cubes of manchego cheese works well with lots of bread and glasses of red wine.

 Tortilla– Traditional Spanish potato omelette that can be made large or small and is the perfect accompaniment to a simple salad to feed a hungry crowd.

 Empanada two ways – wonderful little pastries made two ways - sweet with apple and cinnamon and savoury either with a tuna or salt cod and red onions and chillies filling, or minced pork/beef or chicken, or vegetarian with cheese and green chillies.

 Catalonian beef meatball and fish stew– an unusual combination but the people of the Catalan region have been delighting in this flavour combination for centuries. Any white meaty fish such as cuttlefish, swordfish or cod will do, added to a creamy beef meatball stew to create this beautiful and hearty tapas style combination served with lots of crusty bread.

 Ham Croquetas– Every spanish home and tapas table or counter is never complete without the traditional croquetas. A creamy, soft and crispy mix of textures that are too moreish to only have one! 

The day begins at 9.30am and we invite you to join us with a welcome tea or coffee in the cookery school’s dining room from 9.00am, where you will have a chance to meet your fellow delegates and chef. Your chef will talk you through the class menu and how the day will run before you are assigned a workspace in our fully equipped kitchen, overlooking the beautiful estate at Braxted Park.

The step-by-step tuition is fun and easy to follow and the cookery school team will be available to assist you throughout the day.

At the end of a full day of cooking, everyone’s efforts will be rewarded with a glass of wine and a sit-down meal that has been cooked during the day, where hints and tips can be shared with the group while enjoying the food that you have prepared.

Please note that the dishes listed may vary due to the availability of fresh produce as a result of seasonal changes.

Please note Children over the age of 8 years old are welcome to attend and participate in any of our classes at the full cost of a place but MUST be accompanied by 1 paying adult.
