Essex Chronicle Food & Drink Festival

We have had a very busy and successful weekend at the Essex Chronicle Food & Drink Festival at Cressing Temple Barns.

With torrential rain in full force during Friday’s set-up, the weekend’s weather looked rather bleak. However we were not disappointed as the sun shone throughout the weekend as we spoke to hundreds of food and drink lovers about the range of courses available at our fantastic cookery school.

We also ran a prize draw for one lucky visitor to win a place on Guy Moore’s Cooking with Chocolate class on Tuesday 14th August. Duncan Clark, the owner of Braxted Park had the task of selecting the winner… Congratulations to Rachael from Braintree who will be joining us for the class.

Don’t worry if you missed out on the opportunity to enter the draw as we are offering everyone the chance to join us on the class for a special price of £95 (usually £135).

This offer is limited though so reserve your place today by calling 01621 890300 or email Jessica@braxtedpark.com

  • It's Barbecue Time...American Style!

    Afternoon Summer Barbecue

The ‘Summer’ weather has proven to be rather unpredictable of late so we had our fingers crossed for yesterday’s new ‘Afternoon Summer Barbecue’ class with our brilliant chef Mark David, which turned out to be a sunny(ish) success!

As the class was held on American Independence Day, we incorporated an American twist with barbecued chicken thighs in a honey, maple syrup and American mustard marinade, Boston baked beans and Mississippi Mud Pie on the menu.

Whilst our delegates prepped, marinated, cooked and barbecued a selection of fantastic dishes, we kitted out the kitchen dining room with stars ‘n’ stripes, complete with bunting, napkins, table cloths and flags.

After a busy afternoon of cooking, our delegates filled the table with delicious food and enjoyed their hard work with a cold beer or glass of wine in hand.

By the end of the day we had clear blue skies, providing the perfect opportunity for our delegates to take their drink and stroll down to see Braxted Park’s beautiful Walled Garden in full bloom.

With mouth-watering dishes and excellent feedback, we look forward to running our next barbecue cookery class!
